Electrical FAQ
Everything you need to know about our electrical service in Melbourne. Can't find your answer? Call us directly.
Do I need a licensed electrician?
Yes, all electrical work in Victoria must be done by a licensed electrician. Our team holds current Victorian electrical licences, carries $20M public liability insurance, and provides Certificates of Electrical Safety with every job.
Can you install ceiling fans?
Yes, ceiling fan installation is one of our most popular services. We can install fans with or without lights, add wall-mounted speed controllers, and advise on the right fan size for your room. We handle all wiring including reinforcing ceiling mounts.
How much does it cost to add a power point?
A single power point addition typically costs $99-$150 depending on cable run distance. USB power point upgrades are a popular, affordable option at around $89 per point. Multiple points in one visit are more cost-effective.
Can you convert halogen downlights to LED?
Absolutely. LED conversion is one of our most requested jobs. LED downlights use 80% less energy, last 10x longer, and run much cooler (reducing fire risk). We can typically convert a full home in half a day.
Do you provide a compliance certificate?
Yes, every electrical job comes with a Certificate of Electrical Safety as required by Energy Safe Victoria. This is essential for insurance, property sales, and rental compliance.
Can you do safety inspections?
Yes, we perform electrical safety inspections covering switchboard condition, wiring integrity, smoke alarms, safety switches (RCDs), and general compliance. This is especially valuable for older Melbourne homes and investment properties.
